International Clinics on Infectious Disease Dynamics and Data
The International Clinics on Infectious Diseases Dynamics and Data (ICI3D) Program provides junior researchers from the US and Africa with opportunities to develop the toolsets necessary to conduct integrative research in infectious disease dynamics and to communicate their questions, methods, and findings across disciplinary boundaries.

Clinic on Dynamical Approaches to Infectious Disease Data

The annual Clinic on Dynamical Approaches to Infectious Disease Data (DAIDD) is held at the University of Florida's Emerging Pathogens Institute in Gainesville, FL. The Clinic focuses on how the complex dynamics of pathogen transmission influence study design and data collection for addressing problems in infectious disease research, and the role of dynamical modeling as a tool for understanding these complexities.
The second DAIDD clinic will be held in December 2013. Please check back in August for additional information and application instructions.
Clinic on the Meaningful Modeling of Epidemiological Data
The annual Clinic on the Meaningful Modeling of Epidemiological Data (MMED) is held at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Muizenberg, Cape Town. The focus is on bringing together mathematical modeling ideas with practical approaches to infectious disease data and policy.
The fourth MMED clinic was held June 3-14, 2013. The 2013 MMED schedule is available.

History
- Funding for the 2011 and 2012 MMED clinics was provided by the Ecology of Infectious Diseases Program of the US National Science Foundation. Additional support was provided from SACEMA and AIMS.
- Funding for the 2011 MMED clinic was also provided by the UCSF/Berkeley Framework for Global Health Program, funded by the US National Institutes of Health's Fogarty International Center.
- Earlier clinics (and predecessor programs) received substantial support from Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS).
